Meet Our Staff

Lloyd Galey, Fire Chief


Samuel Yount, Assistant Chief (Medical Services Officer)

Assistant Chief Samuel Yount is married with five children. He has been a member of South Pierce Fire and Rescue since 2003.  Chief Yount is located at Station 84 in Eatonville and heads our emergency medical services. 


Trenton Turner, Assistant Chief (Training & Volunteers)

Assistant Chief Trenton Turner is married with three beautiful children and two dogs. He lives in the Brookdale area.  Chief Turner grew up in and around the Tri Cities. Shortly after graduating from Eastern Washington University in 1998, he moved to University Place and came on as a volunteer firefighter with the District.  Hard work and dedication to the District has allowed him to moved up through the ranks to Assistant Chief.  

Chief Turner enjoys family time, riding quads, hunting, fishing, camping, and spending quality time with friends.  He attributes his success to his grandparents, who raised him from his early teen years.  In the words of AC Turner, "Family is everything to me.  My beautiful wife (Sheila) and my kids are my world."  


Summer Miller, Administrative District Secretary/Financial Officer

Summer moved to Washington in September 2014. She has five sons, and enjoys spending time with them backpacking, hiking, camping, as well as cheering them on at track, basketball, and band events. Summer has a degree in business administration and an extensive background in office administration and management.  She joined South Pierce in January 2016. She is excited to serve the District and is eager to learn everything she can, not only about the communities served, but fire and emergency responses.  


Hilma Wright, Administrative Assistant

Hilma was born and raised in Baltimore Maryland.  She met her husband Mike in high school and they married in July 1977.  They have 3 children, a daughter, Debrahann, and two sons, Gordon and John.  Their family settled in Eatonville after leaving the military in 1983. Hilma has been with the department for 29 years, serving the District as a volunteer firefighter, EMS Coordinator, Fire Prevention and Education, as well Public Information liaison.  She currently serves as the accounts payable clerk and administrative assistant.
